My Story:

I have worked as a culinary instructor, health coach, and yoga teacher, for nearly 20 years. In that time I have developed key skills in leadership, connection, and understanding human behavior, as well as a deep knowledge of the science of nutrition, movement, and well being. Earning a Master's degree in Public Health has expanded my perspective, pushing me to approach health more systematically and with evidence-based interventions that prioritize equity and social cohesion. I consider myself first and foremost a teacher and lifelong student and derive great satisfaction from working with individuals, groups, and systems.

I am based in Washington, D.C. and have made this vibrant city my home for the last 25 years.

My educational background and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Developmental Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison

  • Culinary degree, L’Academie de Cuisine

  • Board certified Integrative Health Coach, Institute for Integrative Nutrition

  • 200-hr certified Yoga Teacher, Living Yoga Teacher Training

  • 20-hr Pelvic Floor Yoga Training

  • Master of Public Health (MPH), George Washington University

I believe that an individual or system’s wellness starts with a foundation of:

  • Deep and sustainable nutrition

  • A consistent movement practice that builds strength, flexibility, and mobility

  • A finely tuned balance between healthy challenge and adequate rest

  • A trust in the innate ability for one’s body and mind to heal and return to its natural equilibrium
